   INTERACTIONS         while spontaneous interactions are welcome ,  i prefer plotting .    it inspires me and helps build a deeper sense of attachment .    threads and connections do not have to be plotted to their entirety ,  but it’s nice to have a general framework for our canvas .    for the sake of organization ,  i will often queue responses ,  so remember to be patient . i will not write with anyone under the age of 20 or any blogs featuring muses from the hellaverse .   PORTRAYAL         my interpretation of tomoe hotaru is based primarily on the original bishoujo senshi sailor moon manga / crystal anime ,  with some minor elements inspired by the 90’s anime .    hotaru’s physical growth throughout the series is, in a word, complicated .    my primary verse takes place after the final stars arc ,  and hotaru is, at minimum, 16 years of age .   she does continue to age and is over 20 years old during the era of crystal tokyo .    if you do not agree with verses that allow characters to grow up ,  please do not follow me .    i am not interested in engaging in a debate on this issue .    i am willing to write in hotaru’s infinity ,  dream ,  and stars arc verse ,    but this will be rare and must be plotted in advance .   SECRET IDENTITY         if your character is not a sailor senshi ,  they will not know that hotaru is sailor saturn unless she reveals this information to them . any instance violating this rule will be considered a case of metagaming and the interaction will be dropped immediately .   SHIPPING         i do intend to have main partners on this blog .    if we are writing partners who interact frequently ,  please do not hesitate to approach me about establishing a main status .    this blog is multiship ,  but some ships may become exclusive , meaning i will not ship with duplicates of that character .    ships can be romantic ,  familial ,  or platonic ,  but any romantic ships will need to be plotted with me and will only take place if i am comfortably friends with you as a writer .   ORIGINAL CHARACTERS & CROSSOVERS         are always welcome !    the sailor moon verse is fairly flexible , and i am happy to discuss with you how we can create our own verse that meshes well with both of our characters . select fandom specific crossover verse descriptions are available here .   ANONYMOUS ASKS         the anonymous feature is a privilege .    anons that harass either myself or my character will be ignored ,  and repeated abuse of this feature will lead to me turning anon off .    i have never had to do this ,  and i hope that i never will .

hotaru carries her title as the     GUARDIAN OF SILENCE    well ,  appearing cold & withdrawn to those unfamiliar to her .    though timid initially ,  there’s the unmistakable glow of a firefly’s warmth within her heart  -  she cares deeply ,  loyally ,  & wholly . once she is comfortable ,  she doesn’t hesitate to share that kindness without reservation to those closest to her .    few things scare her more than the thought that she could ever harm those she cares about .although she is healing from the hardships of her previous lifetime ,  hotaru still carries the weight of her memories with her .    her upbringing with the outer senshi was a kinder one ,  & she does not live with the same illnesses & bullying that plagued her before ,  but shouldering the burdens of multiple lifetimes wears down on her spirit .    hotaru can be cautious & often defensive ,  even brash at times .    she greatly values honesty ,  her limited experience with interaction means that she often comes across as blunt .    her heart is always in the right place .

it should be noted that unlike many of the other sailors , saturn and hotaru are separate souls inhabiting the same body .    saturn ,  in direct contrast to hotaru ,  is aloof ,  decisive ,  & calculating .    she will not hesitate to do what is necessary to maintain balance in the universe ,  & is ,  by nature ,  a solitary individual . her duty as a soldier is to judge the world & save it through destruction if she sees fit ,  & this mission is her primary focus .

hotaru, in essence ,  is a vessel for the spirit of sailor saturn .   however ,  after saturn chooses to awaken hotaru in the dream arc ,  the two begin to learn to exist simultaneously in the same body .    their influences over one another become steadily more apparent over time - hotaru gradually grows more bold ,  & saturn begins to soften . though they maintain their differences , their consciousnesses are weaving a unique & beautiful harmony .
